Smithsonian Science Education Center is organizing a professional development workshop on Environmental Justice! How can we create environments that are healthy for everyone?. on March 11th, 2023.
This will be 6-hour virtual workshop in two three-hour blocks from 10:00AM-1:00PM and 2:00PM-5:00PM Eastern Time on Saturday, March 11th. The workshop is designed for classroom teachers, educators who work in afterschool or informal spaces, and others who are interested in gaining a more robust understanding of the guide.
By attending this training, you will:
- Define Environmental Justice! and investigate how it shows up in your community
- Understand how you can use different approaches to customize the guide for your context and learners
- Learn how to support student-driven scientific investigation, creative activism, and challenging conversations in your classroom
- Develop an action plan for implementing the guide in your community
