Knowledge-based development of cities is a new form of development in the knowledge era with the aim of bringing about economic prosperity and environmental sustainment associated with a socio-spatial order within the cities. In the meantime, creativity and innovation specifically, from the economic perspective, are important components in recombination of the elements to achieve new technologies, knowledge-based development, and consequently, the comprehensive growth. To this end, providing the necessary platforms for identification and utilization of new urban technologies, Isfahan metropolis is going to take advantage of technological creativities as a powerful stimulus for economic growth aiming at entrepreneurship, promoting innovation, and improving the citizens' quality of life. Hence, "The 1st International Exhibition & Festival on New Urban Technologies (ICS 2017)" is being organized from August 4-6, 2017 in Isfahan, Iran by Isfahan Municipality and New Technology Centre in support of national and international organizations including ECOSF, with the attendance of dozens of developed cities from all over the world and hundreds of knowledge-based companies from Iran and abroad, with the following objectives to exhibit the most advanced technologies available for resolving the issues related to the urban management, and improving the quality of urban life.

 Objectives

• Interaction, collaboration, and taking advantage of the experiences of the experts, elites, and intellectuals in universities, industries, and technology development centers, for policy making and planning in technological areas
• Recognition, presentation, and reflection of the latest technological achievements and solutions focusing on their application in infrastructures and priorities of urban development of Isfahan
• Laying the groundwork for identifying, analyzing, and evaluating the current and future situations of the cities in utilizing new technologies
• Providing a context for technology transfer among domestic and foreign knowledge-based companies concerning the requirements of urban management in Isfahan
• Supporting the private sector in developing new technologies and commercialization of which in the realm of urban management missions
• Strengthening the international relations and collaborations with the sister cities and other advanced cities around the world for transferring and utilizing new technologies

Fields of the Festival

"The 1st International Exhibition & Festival on New Urban Technologies (ICS 2017)" will be held with a focus on the following technologies emphasizing on: 1) ecological sustainment of the city, 2) urban transportation, 3) tourism development, and 4) citizenship education and culture:

• Information and communications technology (ICT):focusing on e-services, spatial and temporal data systems, smart software, GPS networks, database, processing and cloud computing, media and advertisement systems

• Environmental technologies: including water harvesting systems, energy saving and energy conservation systems, clean and renewable energies, water and air treatment systems (filters), waste management, smart measurement and monitoring systems, and green construction

• Urban transportation technologies:including clean vehicles, green buses, automated bridges and parking spaces, fleet management hardware and software systems

• Financial technologies & administrativeservice: focusing on asset management systems, smart cards, reception and payment systems, cost analysis systems, and risk management system

• Educational and recreational technologies:emphasizing the social networks, mobile software, computers and computer instruments, technological games and entertainment, as well as beautification

• Smart City:including e-Municipality services, citizenship communication, hardware infrastructures of a smart city, gathering information resources and inference from which for urban observation
