NADCUP SHARIF - The 24th ROBOTIC Competition, Kish Island

Introduction:

The schools/students are invited to participate in the Academic Competition “Nadcup Sharif - Robotic Competition. This contest, which will begin on 31st August and end September 2nd 2019, is an excellent opportunity for the students to apply their lessons from the classroom to a real world situation in the engineering world. The objective of this competition is to combine sports excitement with science and technology. High school students participate and call it “The hardest fun you’ll ever have”. This competition gives high school students and their adult mentors the opportunity to work and create together to solve a problem.

Age-limit and Team Basics:

All skill levels are welcomed and needed, technical or non-technical. Every team can consist of 3 - 4 students.

Impact:

The positive impact on this competition participant is truly gratifying. Over 70% of high school students chose to study Engineering at SUTIC after participating in this competition. The students get to learn the following:

  1. Learn from professional engineers
  2. Get in house training and learn sophisticated hardware and power tools
  3. Build and compete with a robot of their own design
  4. Qualify for scholarships

Cost and Registration:

There is no registration fee for International students and the competition is solely sponsored by the university. Accommodations are also provided to a limited number of participants.

Prizes:

The 3 Grand Prize Winner will win cash prize. This will also give the opportunity to the students to build a product that can turn into an investment product. The winners are determined by the board of members at SUTIC, academic scientific department and our board of advisors.

Achievement and Event Experience:

This can be a great resume builder for students which can encourage them to be future engineers. Hard work pays off!! Every year the Robotics competition season culminates with district and regional events where qualifying teams compete for prizes. Events such as this offer students an amazing experience as they celebrate their hard work, have fun, make new friendships, and are exposed to ideas and ideology that will enhance their lives for decades to come.
