President ECOSF paid a visit to the Institute of Archeology of Uzbekistan in the historical city of Samarkand on September 6, 2017

Presidetn ECOSF Prof. Dr. Manzoor H. Soomro took a day trip to Samarkand where he visited the Institute of Archaeology of Uzbekistan under the Academy and met the Director of the Institute Dr. BERDIMURADOV, Amridin Ergashovich and a senior Historian/Archaeologist Dr. Azim Malikov. After briefing by the institutions, Dr. Soomro was taken around to see the historic, Ulugbeg Observatoy and Madrasahs of 12th-16th centuries as well as the tombs of Amir Timur and Ulugbeg. The Ulugh Beg Observatory is one of the finest ancient observatory in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. It was built in the 1420s by the Timurid astronomer Ulugh Beg, it is considered by scholars to have been one of the finest observatories in the Islamic world.
